My layout features a modern day photo (taken in September 2015) of one of the ageless beauties in the East End Historical District of Galveston Island, Texas. This neighborhood has been pounded by hurricanes over the years (most recently Hurricane Ike on September 13, 2008), but it always returns ... in 2015 you could still hear the sounds of renovation! We talked to a home owner in the neighborhood when we were there taking pictures and she told us that there was 4 feet of water inside her house (which was 8 feet upstairs) and she had to stay out of it for a month before she was able to begin restoration! Most of the neighborhood looks like nothing had happened. Galveston just always returns!
