My design  thoughts went immediately to a local Indian folk tale of Sirena, an Indian maiden,  who made a bargain with a catfish in order to win the heart of the young chief of her tribe.  Read about her story and see the sculpture which is mounted near Salado Creek in Salado, Texas - not far from my home!

Layout #2 features one of my favorite lighthouses - it lured me back to the Outer Banks two summers in a row (2008, and 2009).  I was finally able to climb this brick beauty in 2009!  Cape Hatteras is the tallest brick lighthouse in the world, all 205 steps!  (I know I counted them to keep from thinking about how HIGH I was climbing!)  The light has been guiding ships to shore safely since 1803!

Kaklei Designs at Go Digital Scrapbooking

Through my work with The CT HOT SPOT, I have "discovered" a new designer at Go Digital Scrapbooking - Kaklei Designs has a fabulous shabby style, with loads of paper and element choices in her kits!

I've worked with several of her kits now, and have really enjoyed the process!  First up was a kit called

THE SEA'S OPERA

I am a long time fan of celestial images - so that sun face in the Preview really grabbed my attention!   I think it topped off my cluster perfectly!  I love how I was able to use the gradient paper to full advantage to mimic the color in the photo as well!  (Template was made by me ... I've been fine-tuning it for years now!)

I also have had the privilege of working with Kaklei Designs GOLDEN LOUNGE ... love the mix of purple, green and gold in this one ...

I found it easy to isolate the green/purple elements and papers for my first layout

Fayette Designs BEACH THERAPY

I know for sure that standing on a BEACH looking at the ocean is therapeutic for me!  I'm positive it actually works while looking at my photographs as well.  I had a little
